Riviera Beach Police Department Moves to Temporary Location for New Building Construction

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. — While the old station is being demolished and a new building is being built, the Riviera Beach Police Department will work from a temporary location.

In April, CBS12 News said that there was a problem with mold at the old police station. In a statement, the department said, “The old building was built in 1978, which makes it more than 45 years old.

The building doesn’t meet the needs of the Police Department staff anymore, and it’s no longer possible to fix and keep it.

The department will work out of the Port Center Building at 2051 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. for the time being. The department said that normal business hours will still apply and that the move won’t affect how it does its daily work for the city.

According to Rivera Beach police, the old offices are expected to be demolished by October, and a timeline for the new construction will come later.
