An armed robbery outside a well-known restaurant earlier this month resulted in the arrest of three people. Authorities said that on July 11, two victims were robbed at gunpoint as they were exiting the Flanigan’s restaurant at Miramar Parkway and Red Road.
That occurred shortly before the restaurant’s regular closing time of one in the morning.
The victims’ possessions, including a $20,000 gold necklace, were taken by Derricka Chantel Johnson, 36, Keenan Clark, 21, and Byron Lee Williams, 18, according to the police. The victims then opened fire on the defendants.
The culprits were seen on security footage at Miami Gardens convenience stores, according to Miramar police, and this footage was crucial in cracking the case. Authorities added that Johnson was identified as a suspect in the case thanks to a tip from Broward Crime Stoppers.
The victims were able to identify the stolen gold chain as being belonging to them since Clark was seen showing it off on social media, according to the police.
“We’re just blessed to be here,” the male victim stated. “It’s not about the items they took… it’s about being able to wake up the next day.”

No reported injuries, according to the authorities. The restaurant opened only a year ago, making it more recent. All three defendants are charged with two counts of armed robbery with a firearm, according to jail records.
Williams is additionally charged with third-degree grand theft and probation violation, while Johnson is additionally charged with firing or throwing a missile at a building or automobile.
Johnson is now being held without bond at the North Broward Bureau detention facility run by the Broward Sheriff’s Office as of Tuesday. At the Broward Main Jail, Clark and Williams are being held without bond.
