Two children have gone missing and have not been seen since their mother was discovered dead in a north Sacramento house, according to police.
The children are reportedly with their father, Camron Lee, according to the Sacramento Police Department. Lee has not spoken to detectives since the death of his wife, Angelica Bravo, 28, in 2008.
Bravo’s sister, Cecilia Spencer, stated, “We want Mateo and Athena back.” “That’s just what we need right now.” Investigators are looking for Mateo Lee, 2, and Athena Lee, 4. A family is in disarray. Bravo’s mother Dawn Bodea expressed her feelings, saying, “I am feeling devastated, shattered.”
Since her daughter was discovered dead in a house on Didcot Circle, Bodea said that her grandchildren had vanished from sight. Candles, flowers, and inquiries regarding the whereabouts of Bravo’s two youngest children surrounded that house.
“I think any parent here can probably say we are a little concerned,” Sacramento Police Department Officer Anthony Gamble said.
Despite their belief that Lee absconded with the kids, investigators are not currently considering Lee a suspect in Bravo’s death.
“We don’t know where he is. We haven’t been able to get in touch with him and those kids,” Gamble stated. “We don’t know where the kids are.”
They do have a possible location for the vehicle they think Lee was driving.
The 2023 Honda Passport was seen on camera entering Mexico; the police said it was a dealership loaner car. It’s unknown if he was inside with the children.
“It’s really frustrating because that’s what we thought from the beginning that he was probably heading to Mexico because we knew [Lee] had ties in Mexico,” Bodea stated.
Authorities stated that it is not possible to issue an Amber Alert because the vehicle entered Mexico.
“I did know that they did have a tumultuous relationship in the past,” Bodea stated. “I know they are both passionate and stubborn people.”
The parent-child dynamic was reportedly tumultuous, but Bravo’s family never anticipated this.
“He was always very generous, took care of the kids and was always trying to do right,” Bodea stated.
Bravo’s oldest daughter, who had a different father than her two younger siblings, and her sister and tiny brother were the people we chatted with.
“She was an angel. She was just everything you could think of,” Gilbert Bravo, Amgelica’s brother stated.
The 12-year-old daughter of Angelica, Nathalia Bravo, remarked, “No one could ever love me like she did or I could never love anyone like I did to my mom.”
The two kids are the main focus of the police inquiry, which they are referring to as a death investigation rather than a homicide at this time.

“Just praying to be on the lookout for my little grandbabies,” Bodea stated.
She was also a highly enthusiastic hairstylist who had received a fantastic new chance in her business.
At the MIXED Institute of Cosmetology and Barber, where Bravo worked as an educator, the family organized a vigil in his honor. She first enrolled in the school as a student and was appointed as a teacher a few months ago. According to a fellow educator, she “loved giving back to the students.”
“She’s a beautiful young talented lady. She was full of hope. She was very helpful,” Juliet Fregoso, a teacher at MIXED stated.
Students at Bravo’s school created placards for the window vigil, and friends and relatives discussed Bravo’s life. There were appeals during the vigil for Bravo’s children to be brought home safely.
“Pray that we get those two beautiful kids back home safely,” Robert Brown, CEO of MIXED stated.
The Sacramento Police Department is asking anyone with knowledge regarding the children’s whereabouts or the father to get in touch with them.
