There are now more information available regarding the armed man who was detained on Monday close to the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
Donnell Tinsley, 21, was accused in a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County Circuit Court of carrying a hidden AK-47 handgun without a permit, a “Scream” movie mask, and a number of other items.
Tinsley was observed strolling approximately two blocks outside the RNC convention’s car screening perimeter by a special agent from Homeland Security Investigations who was observing the convention’s outside on Monday morning, according to the authorities.
According to the authorities, he was carrying a sizable, seemingly weighty rucksack and was dressed in a ski mask and black gloves.
After stopping Tinsley and getting his permission to inspect his rucksack, the federal agent discovered the AK-47 handgun, also known as a “Draco,” right away, according to the authorities. When asked if he had a permission to carry concealed weapons, Tinsley acknowledged he didn’t, they added.
A magazine completely loaded with rifle ammunition, a flashlight, a “Scream” movie mask, two pairs of black gloves, sunglasses, an Allied Universal Security uniform shirt, two cans of spray paint, and numerous empty designer marijuana bags were also discovered inside the rucksack, according to the authorities. Additionally, they claimed that Tinsley’s pants pockets held two telephones.
Following their verification that Tinsley lacked a permit to carry a concealed firearm, federal law enforcement agents placed him under arrest.
According to court documents, Tinsley appeared in court for the first time on Wednesday morning. Information about attorneys was not yet available.
The arrest takes place in the wake of former President Donald Trump’s attempted assassination in Pennsylvania on Saturday. As the front-runner for president, Trump was present at the Republican convention on Monday.
