Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania and his spouse Giselle were admitted to the hospital following a collision in Maryland.
Democrat Fetterman was operating a Chevrolet Traverse when it collided with a Chevrolet Impala’s back on I-70 on Sunday, according to the Maryland State Police.
Fetterman’s office reports that he was released on Sunday afternoon together with his wife, citing the incident as the cause of his damaged shoulder.
There was no information provided regarding Giselle Barreto Fetterman’s injuries.
According to authorities, Fetterman’s passenger and the Impala driver were both transported by ambulance to War Memorial Hospital in West Virginia for medical assessment.

“On Sunday morning, John and Gisele were involved in a car accident with another driver. Out of an abundance of caution, they were evaluated at a local hospital. John was treated for a bruised shoulder and they were discharged that afternoon. They are doing well and happy to be back in Braddock,” a spokesperson for Fetterman’s office stated.
At approximately eight in the morning, the collision occurred while both cars were heading west on I-70. Police stated that no citations have been issued and that an investigation into the collision is still underway.
