Prior to Thanksgiving, one of the busiest travel holidays, regional gas station chain Sheetz is lowering pricing at a few of its pumps.
On Tuesday, the firm announced that it is cutting the price of its unleaded 88 by 40 cents per gallon at the 505 stations that sell the particular fuel, which Sheetz stated is EPA-approved for use in all vehicles manufactured in 2001 and later.
Tuesday marked the beginning of the promotion, which will run until the end of November.
Sheetz, which is headquartered in Altoona, Pennsylvania, has over 750 locations across Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.
According to AAA, the agreement is made at a time when petrol prices are averaging less than $3 per gallon across 26 states:

According to AAA, the average price of a gallon of regular gas on Wednesday was $3.07, which is lower than the $3.31 price a year ago.
On November 18, Patrick DeHaan, an analyst with GasBuddy, posted on X, “The national average price of gasoline has declined for the 5th straight week and stands at $3.022/gal, the lowest since 2021. $2.99 is COMING… the long wait is painful but almost over.”

The membership group estimates that over 90% of the nearly 80 million individuals who are anticipated to travel over the holiday next week would be drivers.
In the same spirit, an annual Thanksgiving travel study published on Wednesday by GasBuddy shows that 72% of Americans will drive this year, climbing 75% from 2023.
