A teacher at a high school in Ohio suffered serious injuries when a student allegedly assaulted her in a classroom, possibly under the influence of an unknown substance, as reported by the Colerain Police Department.
The incident took place on January 4 at Colerain High School around 2:18 p.m., prompting a response from the police after the 16-year-old boy attacked the teacher.
In police bodycam footage, a woman is heard mentioning that the 60-year-old teacher was conscious but felt faint. The teacher was subsequently transported to a nearby medical center for treatment.
In the footage, the youngster informs officials, “I thought I was dreaming.”
The pupil was questioned regarding reports that he struck his own head and was “trying to wake up.” Then he claims that they were delayed and that he heard echoes.
The youngster then acknowledges that, in response to her orders to stop, he started striking the instructor in the head.
The teenager told authorities he remembered the teacher telling him she was going to call the police before he started beating her, according to Cincinnati’s NBC affiliate WLWT. The teenager allegedly pinched and gripped the neck of another classmate.
According to a police report that WLWT was able to get, the adolescent had taken an unknown narcotic and taken a hit from a vaporizer before the event. According to the New York Post, the teacher’s injuries was so bad that medical professionals had to take off her skull cap to release pressure on her brain.
According to the police, the teenager faces disciplinary action from the school district and is facing charges of felony assault. After receiving treatment at a hospital for his self-inflicted head injuries, he was transferred to a nearby juvenile correctional facility.
