ATLANTA, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said that a 40-year-old man was arrested in Pennsylvania on Friday and faces various charges related to the death of his wife.

The GBI says that Nicholas James Kassotis is being charged with murder with intent, tampering with evidence, and taking body parts from the scene of a death.

The GBI said on May 11 that Mindi Kassotis, his wife, was found.

The GBI says that when Mindi died, the Kassotis were living in Savannah.

The GBI says that Mindi Kassotis’s body parts were found by hunters on December 2, 2022, in the woods near the Portal Hunting Club on Jones Road.

The GBI says that is near the city of Riceboro and the county lines of Liberty and McIntosh.

The GBI says they talked to many people, including Mindis’s family, and got DNA samples.

GBI says that the victim was found with help from the FBI Atlanta, FBI Baltimore, the U.S. Marshals Service East Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force-Lancaster Office, and other law enforcement organizations.

GBI says that Kassotis is being held at the Lancaster County Prison in Pennsylvania and will be sent to Georgia.
