A beloved father was shot and killed in a mall in San Bernardino County, shocking loved ones. On Sunday, October 6, at approximately 3:20 p.m., deputies were called in in response to gunman reports at the Victorville Galleria.

The victim, whose family called him “Daffy Jaybyrd,” ran an electronics store inside the mall and claimed he could fix almost anything. The victim’s daughter, Mimi Taylor, said, “My dad was literally loved in the whole community.” “He was a complete package.”

According to Taylor, her father’s favorite vintage cartoons served as the inspiration for his nickname. He was passionate about assisting his customers and has been running his store for almost six years.

“Electronics, home appliances — he sold everything,” Taylor stated. “He could fix phones, tablets, Fire sticks. After hours, he went home and he’s still working on people’s stuff until 4 in the morning.”
