Police in Southern California have reported that a woman was fatally stabbed by her lover in front of her children on Friday night, in a horrific scene.

The Simi Valley Police Department claimed in a press release on Sunday morning that they got a call from the woman’s daughter at 6:04 p.m. on Friday. The daughter claimed that her live-in boyfriend was stabbing her mother.

Raymond Rivas, 34, of Simi Valley was swiftly taken into custody at the scene without any problems, according to Simi Valley Police Commander Wedemeyer.

Jessica Tinoco, a 34-year-old Simi Valley resident, was discovered inside a house with stab wounds to her face, chest, and abdomen.  After being taken to a nearby hospital, Tinoco passed away, according to the police.

On Sunday, a family member of Tinoco revealed that she was a mother of five children. According to the family member, Tinoco and Rivas had a love relationship for just under two years.

They also said that in front of Tinoco’s entire family, Rivas repeatedly stabbed her.
