WPBN: The big retail theft raid that took place in Ventura County resulted in the arrest of thirty-seven accused individuals.
According to information provided by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the two-day blitz operation was carried out at the Pacific View mall in Ventura from December 6th to December 7th.
cops found a variety of illegal substances, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, as well as burglary equipment that were utilized in the crimes. The stolen property was estimated to be worth approximately $2,000, and its value was discovered by the cops.

Together with loss prevention teams from Target, JCPenney, and Macy’s, as well as Allied Security, which is responsible for providing security services for Pacific View mall, officers worked together to prevent losses.
“This effort highlights the significant shoplifting challenges affecting not only the mall but also businesses across the county,” Ventura County Sheriff’s Office stated.
Detectives from a variety of organizations within Ventura County have come together to form the Ventura County Organized Retail Theft Task Force. Their primary mission is to combat organized retail theft, as well as theft of vehicles and vehicle components, as well as theft of cargo.
“The task force aims to provide a safe environment for everyone while working hand in hand with retailers, law enforcement agencies and the public to identify, locate and arrest the criminals involved in these types of crimes,” according to the sheriff’s department.
Individuals from the District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigations and the West County Special Enforcement Unit of the Sheriff’s Department collaborated with detectives from the Task Force to investigate the incident. Officers from the Ventura Police Department and patrol deputies from the Thousand Oaks and Camarillo stations provided assistance to them during the incident.
