Following an 11-year-old boy’s shooting on Sunday night while he was standing on the front porch of a Tampa apartment, police are requesting assistance from the general public.
According to the Tampa Police Department, the victim was shot by an unidentified offender on his porch at the C. Blythe Andrews Apartments on East Osborne Avenue at approximately 10:17 p.m. on February 11.
After being brought to a hospital, the victim received treatment for non-life-threatening wounds.
“Our thoughts are with this family as this senseless act has left an innocent child in our community injured,” Chief Lee Bercaw stated. “Our officers are committed to identifying the person responsible and holding this individual accountable. I believe that with the assistance of our community, we can bring this family the justice they deserve.”
