The Infamous Yellow Pole at Indiana Walmart Continues to Baffle Drivers

PRINCETON, Ind. – A seemingly ordinary yellow pole in the parking lot of the Princeton Walmart has gained notoriety for its uncanny ability to attract vehicular collisions, leaving both locals and internet users puzzled.

A Pole with a Reputation

Positioned at the base of a stop sign near the store’s exit, this bright yellow pole has been the unintended target of numerous drivers. Despite being surrounded by striped yellow lines and placed similarly to other stop signs, it has been involved in an average of two accidents per month. Princeton Police Chief Derek McGraw remarked, “This pole has kept my officers busy for a while all of a sudden out of nowhere.” He added, “This thing doesn’t move… I’ve seen a couple trucks parked on top of it. It does not give.”

Social Media Sensation

The pole’s reputation has extended beyond Princeton, becoming a viral sensation. It boasts its own Facebook page, and photos of vehicles that have fallen victim to it garner hundreds of likes and comments on local community pages.

Seeking Answers

While some speculate about the pole’s “curse,” others suggest it might be a case of poor visibility or driver distraction. Chief McGraw noted, “Every driver that we speak to says ‘I did not see the pole when I hit it.’”
