A Facebook event says that Wawa will open its newest store in Florida on Thursday at 7790 Gate Parkway in Jacksonville. The big opening party will start at 8 a.m.

At the big opening, there will be free coffee and a visit from Wally Goose, the Wawa mascot. At 8 a.m., the first 100 buyers will get a free T-shirt, and the ribbon will be cut.

There will also be a competition called “Hoagies for Heroes,” in which first responders build hoagies to raise money for local causes of their choice.
