WPBN: At around 2:15 p.m. on January 5, a woman who is 85 years old and her family are requesting assistance in identifying the three women who attempted to break into their home in Colton by using a diversion.
Margarita Martinez, the homeowner, stated that she was sitting on her porch on a Sunday afternoon, enjoying the tranquility of the day, when she was approached by an unknown person.
The unidentified woman began asking the 85-year-old Martinez questions such as “Is there anyone in the house?” As can be seen in the film captured by the Ring camera that is installed on Martinez’s front entrance. also, “Are you by yourself?”
It was reported by the homeowner’s daughter that Martinez informed the mother that her son was present inside the house as a precautionary measure.
“My mom said at one point she put her hand in her purse and that’s when my mom worried,” Martinez’s daughter stated. “She thought she might have a weapon or something.”
On the other hand, rather than grabbing a weapon, the mother grabbed her phone and asked Martinez to call her son. Martinez, however, declined to do both of those things.
The woman then proceeded to make a request for Aloe Vera plants, demonstrating a dogged determination to maintain the attention of the 85-year-old individual, naming the particular plants that she desired.
Immediately after she succeeded in getting Martinez to turn away, two additional women emerged from lurking behind the bushes, and one of them hurriedly entered the home without any delay.
“It seems like they had signals to each other because you could see them waving and saying it’s clear,” Martinez’s daughter stated.
The fact that Martinez’s daughter and her husband were present inside the house was something that the three women were unaware of.
“At that point I started yelling, you need to get out of the house, get out of the house and my husband also started yelling,” Martinez’s daughter stated.
At the same time as Martinez and her family were calling the Colton police, the three women hurried outside.
It is unknown whether the three women were able to remove anything more but plants, according to members of the family who gave their accounts.
It was reported that Martinez and her family felt their sense of security was shaken by the episode. They not only reported it to the Colton police department, but they also uploaded the CCTV video to social media in the hopes that someone would recognize the three women.

“We’re praying that they’re caught so that this doesn’t happen to anyone else,” Martinez’s daughter stated.
Chino police have informed that, in addition to the investigations being conducted by the Colton police, they are also looking into a group of ladies who broke into a house on December 18 and had a similar appearance to Colton police officers.
These women fit the descriptions of the suspects in Martinez’s case.
