On Saturday night, three people, including a 3-year-old toddler, and two adults, were killed after entering an apartment complex in Florida.

According to Assistant Chief J.D. Stronko of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, who spoke at a press conference early on Sunday morning, they and two others had gone to an apartment on A.C. Skinner Parkway in Jacksonville to speak with some people regarding the private sale of a dog.

Four adults and one toddler made up the total group size. According to authorities, a quarrel of some sort sparked the subsequent firing.

After reports of gunfire at around 10 p.m., Stronko said, patrol units were sent to the area. There were three fatalities in the group. One more of the adults was hurt.

Authorities claim that witnesses have reported seeing two males escape the site. A black car might be the vehicle of escape.

“We have just about as many questions regarding this incident as you do right now,” Stronko stated.

The names of the victims haven’t been made public. Stronko mentioned he couldn’t confirm if they were connected due to Marsy’s Law, a Florida law that grants specific rights to victims.
