Tragic Accident in Orlando Two Lives Lost as Driver Runs Red Light

ORLANDO, Fla. – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, two individuals lost their lives as a result of a driver running a red light at an intersection in Orlando.

The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on Sunday at the junction of Lake Underhill Road and Rouse Road.

The FHP reported that a Kia Soul was traveling eastbound on Lake Underhill Road toward the intersection with Rouse Road.

While the car was making a left turn on a green light and entering the intersection, a Jeep Grand Cherokee driver disregarded the red light.

Consequently, the front of the Jeep collided with the right side of the Kia, causing it to overturn.

The driver of the Kia was transported to the hospital but was pronounced deceased, while the passenger of the Kia died at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep, a 40-year-old woman from Orlando, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Authorities are currently working on identifying the victims involved in the incident.

The westbound lanes on Underhill Road are currently blocked due to the accident. The crash is currently being investigated.
