On Monday evening, a deadly drive-by shooting took place in Broward County, prompting authorities to arrive on the scene. It happened in the vicinity of Fort Lauderdale’s 700 block of Northwest 10th Terrace shortly before 8 p.m.

Six individuals, including a toddler, were shot, according to the police. The boy is two years old, according to the child’s relatives.

They claimed that as the gunman sprayed the area outside of a convenience shop, the boy was in his mother’s arms. They reported that the boy had also been hit by a bullet and that the mother had been shot in the head.

The mother went into the store, where she collapsed and died, according to her relatives.

Authorities verified that a man passed away at Broward Health Medical Center and a lady perished there. According to the authorities, the survivors were also taken to a Broward Health Medical Center for treatment.

The toddler, identified by the grandmother as Diego, is reportedly suffering from a broken leg in addition to being in a medically-induced coma.

She named the deceased as 28-year-old Tiarra Holliday, her daughter.

“She did everything she could to save her baby’s life,” Shontrelle Holliday, the victim’s mother stated. “That was definitely the person who she was. She would have preferred to save him over her.”

Sheldon Lawrence, 45, who was identified by his ex-girlfriend, was also slain in the attack. The woman, who preferred to be addressed only by her first name, claimed that the pair remained close friends after dating for ten years.

“An innocent person just at the wrong place at the wrong time,” Devon, Lawrence’s ex-girlfriend stated. “All i know is he’s a good person, a good man, a good father, a good brother. He had a heart of gold.”

Authorities affirmed that no suspects are being held.

“We need information to help us put the pieces together regarding this investigation,” Fort Lauderdale spokeswoman Casey Liening stated. “We know there were many people on scene who witnessed this — someone who may have seen the color of the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle, the type of gun — I mean, you name it. We need those people to come forward.”

It is recommended that anyone with information contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
