A tragic incident occurred on Friday morning on Interstate 95 in Palm Beach Gardens, resulting in the death of a 59-year-old man from Port St. Lucie.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was hit and killed while he was checking on the driver of a flipped-over vehicle.

The collision occurred a little before 5:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-95, just north of PGA Boulevard.

The victim had been walking back to his car after inspecting the overturned vehicle on the highway when he was struck by a Mercedes GLE 450 driven by a 76-year-old man from Texas.
