On Monday night in Bonifay, there was a fatal shooting resulting in one man’s death and another being taken into custody. As of Tuesday morning, there are limited confirmed details. Bonifay Police Chief Jimmy Macon stated that the victim, a 30-year-old resident of Bonifay, was shot and killed at a residence on East Pennsylvania Avenue around 9:43 p.m.
Reports indicate that Bonifay Police Department officers arrived at the scene within 2 minutes of receiving the call and apprehended one suspect.
While some family members have shared the victim’s name on social media, official confirmation of this information, as well as the suspect’s name, has not yet been provided.
“This is an ongoing investigation, and we will give more information as soon as possible,” said Chief Macon, who was also present at the site.
“The victim’s mother has been notified, but we are not yet ready to give more details. I would like to also thank Sheriff John Tate and the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this case.”
