After a man and a woman were fatally shot in two different events in the northwest part of Miami-Dade County, authorities are appealing to the general public for assistance in identifying a suspect in a murder case on Thursday.
In the first occurrence, police officers in Miami rushed to the 1700 block of Northwest 28th Street at 2:30 in the morning on January 5 in response to a shot spotter alert. They claimed they were there for about 30 minutes.
Marie Lousirna Noel, 60 years old, was found laying in a grassy area suffering from what seemed to be a gunshot wound, according to the police who arrived shortly after.
Noel was declared dead at the site despite the efforts of the City of Miami Fire Rescue, which attended to the incident and administered lifesaving measures, according to the police.
In the second incident, which took place on January 10 in the morning, police reported that 61-year-old Bradley Griffith was murdered while sleeping underneath a tree close to the junction of Northwest 38th Street and 22nd Avenue.
On Thursday, detectives made public their belief that the two shootings are related to one another.
The suspect is described as a male of white Hispanic descent between the ages of 20 and 30, standing between 5 feet 7 and 5 feet 10 in height, with a medium frame, black hair, and a goatee.
According to the authorities, he was last seen wearing a purple tie-dye t-shirt, purple camouflage shorts, and black sneakers. On his right wrist, he was also wearing a watch.
There is a reward of up to $9,500 available via Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers for information that leads to an arrest.
