Two individuals, a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old juvenile whose identity has not been disclosed, were arrested by the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) in connection with a shooting that resulted in a homicide on Wednesday night.

Both suspects, identified as Junior Zelaya Castaneda, and the unnamed juvenile, were apprehended on Thursday night. They have been charged with first-degree murder, three counts of attempted first-degree murder, and firing into an occupied vehicle, as stated in the affidavit.

On Wednesday evening, deputies received a report of a shooting in the Fleming Avenue area of Greenacres. Upon arrival, they discovered an injured male inside a Toyota RAV 4.

The unidentified victim was found unconscious and severely bleeding from a gunshot wound to the head, according to the affidavit.

Shortly after being transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Castaneda is currently being held at the Palm Beach County Jail without bond. The juvenile suspect was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center, as mentioned in a PBSO news release.

The 19-year-old suspect has upcoming hearings scheduled for July 17 and August 10.
