A lady is charged with stealing lottery tickets valued at $100,000 from her place of employment, a pizza shop in Westmoreland County.

Kimberly Morris was accused by Westmoreland County detectives of stealing lotto tickets from the machine at Falbo’s Pizzeria in South Greensburg, and she was charged with theft and receiving stolen property.

The pizza business owner discovered anomalies with their lotto equipment in 2019, which Morris allegedly managed from 2018 to 2020 while working an unsupervised shift, according to the authorities.

The victim reported to investigators that they were receiving between several hundred and several thousand dollars’ worth of instant game tickets every week due to malfunctions in their lottery machine.

Investigators claimed they discovered the owner of the pizza company put more than $102,000 of her own money into the lottery account to make up for the loss through a study of statements pertaining to the account.

Morris said to the police that she could play the instant games without purchasing tickets because she was the machine’s administrator.

After being charged, she was freed on her own recognizance.
