The amount that will be distributed this year as part of the energy relief and Permanent Fund dividend is known thanks to the Alaska Department of Revenue.
According to Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum, “Alaskanos have received their share of the state’s natural resources and investment earnings for 43 years.” “The 2024 PFD will create an economic opportunity across all of our local communities.”
It was confirmed that the payment for this year will be $1,702, which consists of a $298.17 energy relief payment that was granted last year in addition to the regular dividend amount of $1,403.83.
The amount of the dividend has increased from the payout from the previous year by around $400, and according to State officials, about 600,000 Alaskans will be entitled to receive it this year.
When are the payments going to be made?
Payment schedule instructions from the Alaska Department of Revenue is as follows: “2023 (and prior year) dividend applications that are in “Eligible-Not Paid” status on September 4, 2024, will be distributed on September 12, 2024.”
According to the website, the government will start paying PFD applicants in two installments starting in 2024. The first installment was made to individuals who filed online and selected direct deposit as their payment option on October 3.
For individuals who submitted their applications on paper or selected a paper check as their mode of payment, the second payout will be made on October 24. As long as applications are placed in an eligible for payment state, monthly disbursements will continue.

“2024 (and prior year) dividend applications that are in “Eligible-Not Paid” status on September 20, 2024, will be distributed on October 3, 2024,” the official website continues. Applications for dividends in 2024 (and previous years) that are in the state of “Eligible-Not Paid” on October 14, 2024, will be distributed on October 24, 2024.
