Since the Covid-19 outbreak, the cost of living in the United States of America has shown to be a significant issue. States have been implementing various stimulus payments as a result in an effort to assist some of their most disadvantaged citizens in making ends meet on a monthly basis.
One state offering a $1,000 stimulus payment to eligible recipients is New Mexico.
“Prices for basic necessities continue to be high across the nation” Gov. Lujan Grisham stated. “Our state today is in a fantastic financial position, and it’s important to me that New Mexico’s families are sharing in that success.”

$500 for single filers and married people filing separately, and a refundable income tax rebate of $1000 for heads of household, married couples submitting joint returns, and surviving spouses.
Residents in New Mexico who have filed a 2021 Personal Income Tax (PIT) form and who are not listed as dependents on another taxpayer’s return will automatically get their rebates.
There is no need to apply. At the latest, through the end of June 2023, rebate cheques will be printed and sent. The week of June 19 is when people who are getting direct deposits should expect to get them.

If they haven’t already, eligible residents have until May 31, 2024, to file their 2021 PIT return. For those New Mexicans who do not qualify for the foregoing refunds, relief payments are $500 or $1,000.
