On the early morning of Christmas Day, around 7:53 a.m., Fort Pierce Police officers were called to respond to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of South U.S. Highway 1 and Palm Avenue.
According to a spokesperson for the Fort Pierce Police Department, the initial investigation indicated that a 27-year-old woman from Fort Pierce was driving northbound in the 2800 block of South U.S Highway 1.
Her gray Honda sedan collided with the median, crossed all southbound lanes, and hit two trees before finally stopping in the 2700 block.
The injured woman was taken to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, where she tragically passed away due to her injuries.
As of now, the victim’s identity has not been disclosed.
