A strange camel bite incident at a safari park in Alamo, Tennessee, on Labor Day resulted in the arrest and accusation of child endangerment of a woman who was well-known for co-starring on TLC’s reality TV show “1,000-Lb. Sisters.”
The Tennessee Safari Park is where the incident involving Amy Slaton Halterman occurred. Visitors can drive around the park to get up close and personal with the animals, which presumably includes camels.
The Crockett County Sheriff’s Office stated in a press statement that their inquiry started with a report of a guest who was bitten by a camel and led to a car with “suspicious odors.” They also commented on the case’s “no ordinary Labor Day” character.
According to investigators, children were in risk when the car contained marijuana and mushrooms.
Authorities claimed that “suspicious odors coming from the guest’s vehicle immediately overtook deputies upon arrival.” It seems that the car belonged to Slaton Halterman, with Brian Lovvorn riding along.
According to the sheriff’s office, both were brought to the Crockett County Jail on accusations of narcotics possession and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
It’s not apparent if they have legal defense counsel.
Along with her sister Tammy, Slaton Halterman has been on five seasons of the weight loss program “1000-Lb. Sisters,” which follows their lives and weight loss journeys.
