18-Year-Old Identified as Perpetrator in 2021 Miami Shooting Incident

MIAMI, Fla. — An arrest has been made by the police in connection with the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy from West Palm Beach in 2021.

According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, detectives have successfully identified 18-year-old William Garrido Corbea as the individual responsible for the murder of 14-year-old Angelo Antonio Guzman.

On the evening of September 19, 2021, Guzman and his family were reportedly attending a gathering at Sandpiper Park on SW 157 Avenue.

As per the police, Guzman informed his family members that he intended to meet friends in the vicinity. However, shortly afterward, the sound of gunshots rang out.

Emergency responders who arrived at the scene pronounced the 14-year-old boy deceased.

After nearly two years, the police have now revealed that investigators were able to gather information from witnesses and family members to reconstruct the events of that fateful day.

The authorities have charged Corbea with second-degree murder in relation to the case.
