The University of Southern California’s 19-year-old business student who was detained on suspicion of murder on Monday night after fatally stabbing a burglary suspect on USC’s Greek Row in Los Angeles has been identified.
In the University Park area, the event was reported in the 700 block of West 28th Street at approximately 8:15 p.m.
An unnamed male with stab wounds was discovered by responding law enforcement in an alleyway. Later thereafter, the Los Angeles Police Department reported that he had been declared dead at the site.
The Boyle Heights native, who is currently being held by the authorities, and two companions allegedly saw the 27-year-old homeless man breaking into cars. According to reports, the 19-year-old approached the man with a knife before fatally stabbing him.
With no criminal history, Gallegos remained at the scene to assist law enforcement. He told police he was defending himself and that the 27-year-old burglary suspect had stated he was carrying a pistol.
The buddies of the 19-year-old who were with him at the time have not been taken into custody. Everyone in the kids’ Delta Tau Delta Fraternity is quite worried about what transpired, according to a maid.

Because of past property crime events on Greek Row and the proximity of the stabbing scene to a homeless encampment, some locals claim they are already on edge.
“When a lot of this stuff occurs repetitively, you have a lot more students who want to be proactive,” Greek Row resident Liam Shi stated. “I don’t even know what I would’ve done in that situation.”
Regarding Gallegos, he now has an unknown future as he is being jailed on a $2 million bail.
