According to authorities, an Indiana dad killed his own son over a dispute about unwashed dishes in the sink, and he is currently in jail.

In Marion County Jail records, Timothy Ray Lisby, 59, is being charged with one count of aggravated violence.

On that fatal day, a witness to the purported filicide, however, stated he thought he seen a murder, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will determine the case’s formal, conclusive charges.

The event happened on June 14 in the afternoon at a house on Dogie Road, which is part of a neighborhood of mobile homes that is bordered to the east and west by the Hawthorne area and Little Eagle Creek.

According to an affidavit filed in the case, when officers arrived at the site in response to an allegation of a stabbing, they discovered Christopher Allen Lisby, 31, suffering from wounds from the incident on the living room floor, including a “bleeding wound to the chest.”

With a cut to his heart, the man was taken in critical condition by Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services to a local hospital. Police added that although the younger Lisby recovered from surgery, he passed away the next day from his wounds.

Homicide detectives have taken up the case since the battery charge was filed. It is stated that the inquiry is still ongoing.

The man who provided details about what transpired after the father and son started fighting about the filthy dishes in an interview with Fox affiliate WXIN in Indianapolis was also one of the witnesses who spoke with police. The two eventually wrestled each other to the ground.

According to Jeremiah Green, the elder Lisby once began hitting his kid with a spoon handle.

“Tim had a spoon in his hand and started stabbing Chris with it,” the witness told the TV station.” Chris stated, ‘Jeremiah get the spoon out of his hand,’ so I did.”

Then, according to reports, Timothy Lisby obtained a second weapon.

“Tim ran in the kitchen and grabbed something shiny, something sharp … and thrusted it into Chris’s chest as hard as he could,” Green continued.

That day, the friend of the deceased man called 911. Both Green and the affidavit state that the father noticed what was going on quickly and made futile attempts to preserve his son’s life, including applying pressure to the wound and pleading with him to survive.

“He was putting pressure on Chris and saying, ‘Don’t die. Don’t die’,” Green stated. “Since that day I’ve been crying and I can’t sleep.”

The friend, who is now in mourning, has vowed to testify against the father in court and is determined to see him go to prison, stating he will stop at nothing to “put him down.”

As of right now, Timothy Lisby is being held without bond. The date of his upcoming court appearance is June 21.

“Chris was my friend. I loved him to death.” Green stated. “I’ve never seen anyone bleed that bad and that really hurt me. When he stabbed Chris in the heart, it’s like he stabbed mine.”
