39-Year-Old Woman Charged in Miami Fatal Crash While Under the Influence

MIAMI – In Miami-Dade County court on Sunday, a 39-year-old woman appeared, accused by detectives of causing a fatal crash in Miami while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Rosa Blanco-Herrera was arrested by police officers on Friday, and she was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center by correctional officers around 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, as indicated by records.

During the bond hearing, her brother, Attorney Moncy Blanco-Herrera, requested house arrest from Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Javier A. Enriquez. He mentioned that she resided with their parents and wasn’t likely to flee.

After considering the matter, Judge Enriquez deemed the charges very serious and established her bond at the standard amount of $25,000. He rejected the pleas for a lower bond and house arrest.

According to Miami-Dade County court records, prosecutors filed a DUI manslaughter charge against Blanco-Herrera for the case involving the Miami Police Department on Sunday.

The case will be overseen by Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Zachary N. James.

Detectives urged individuals with any information about the case to contact Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
