ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – On Monday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said that nine men had been arrested as part of an effort to stop street racing and “intersection takeovers.”
Deputies said in a post on social media that the guys were taken into custody on Saturday.
“Street racing and takeovers are illegal and extremely dangerous,” a video in the post says. “If you do this in Orange County, you will be arrested and your car will be taken away for at least 30 days.”
The video also shows street racing in Orange County and shows pictures of the guys who were caught, but it doesn’t say who they are or what they were charged with.
Street racing has always been a problem for people in Florida. Troopers told News 6 in February that they had seen a rise in the state.
“It’s too expensive. Trooper Channing Taylor said, “Racing is for the track.” “We’re not going to let it happen in Florida.”
