Fatal Collision South of Vero Beach Claims Life of 31-Year-Old Fort Pierce Man

A collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck on Oslo Road claimed the life of a 31-year-old Fort Pierce man on Wednesday evening, as reported by highway officials.

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident, which occurred east of 20th Avenue Southwest in the eastbound lanes of the highway shortly after 5 p.m.

According to crash details provided by FHP, a 2019 black GMC Sierra and a gray 2007 Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycle collided at the intersection of Ninth Street Southwest (Oslo Road) and 10th Court Southwest.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

Prior to the collision, investigators noted that the truck was traveling westbound in the inside continuous turn lane that separates the two lanes of travel. Meanwhile, the eastbound motorcycle was approaching 10th Court Southwest in the outside lane.

As the truck made a left turn south toward 10th Street Southwest, it struck the motorcycle, resulting in the fatal incident, according to highway officials.

The 38-year-old driver of the truck from Vero Beach was uninjured, while a 35-year-old woman, listed as a passenger in the report, sustained minor injuries.
