A man passed away on Tuesday morning in a work accident at a logistics company in the Lackawanna area of Jacksonville, as per the police.

Sgt. Steve Rudlaff from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office mentioned that the incident occurred at Lineage Logistics on Dignan Street just before 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Officers found a man stuck under the bed of a semi-trailer.

Despite the paramedics’ response, the man, believed to be in his 30s or 40s and working as a truck driver for Abaco Freight, had already died.

Rudlaff explained that it seems the man was working alone beneath the semi on the air slide when the truck bed unexpectedly dropped down over the tires, trapping him underneath.

The trailer was fully loaded, and the man, who was leaving the property, had stopped to make some repairs when the accident occurred.

A witness discovered him trapped under the trailer later on. The truck is from out of state, and it’s unclear where the driver was from.

Rudlaff stated that OSHA is on-site, conducting a joint investigation with JSO. They are actively seeking surveillance footage or any witnesses who might have information about the accident.

The number of people found in the vehicle is not clear. The recovery team mentioned that it’s an ongoing investigation, and they don’t have any more information to share right now.

They posted, saying, “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims families.”

A spokesperson from the Sunrise police told USA Today that they helped retrieve a car from a pond. The car, last registered in 2005, was found, but there’s no additional information about the bodies inside as they are undergoing testing for identification.

Sunshine State Sonar has also assisted in finding other missing people. For instance, they recently located the remains of Sandra Lemire, a missing Orlando mother who had been gone for nearly 12 years.

She was discovered in her submerged vehicle in a retention pond near Disney World, Florida, on New Year’s Eve.

Sandra Lemire was last seen driving her grandmother’s minivan after leaving a Denny’s restaurant in Kissimmee. She had met a man through an online dating service, and after that, she vanished.

The recovery group, working with the Orlando Police Department for the past year and a half, has searched a total of 63 bodies of water.

The group decided to look in different places, including ones by the highway, because the police shared new information. While searching, they got a signal on their sonar in a small pond that was 14 feet deep.

The medical examiner’s office in Orlando still has to make sure the found remains are correct, and the Florida Highway Patrol is looking into why the accident happened, says the Associated Press.

Timothy Lemire, the son, told Spectrum News that he always believed they would find his mother.

“You just can’t lose hope, and I almost did,” Timothy Lemire said Tuesday. “But the Sunshine State Sonar did an amazing job solving this case. Without them, none of this would have been possible.”
