Following an accident on the Florida Turnpike at Wildwood, a drug-addled man from Miami was taken into custody.
An arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department states that 29-year-old Charles Joseph Abreu Decca was involved in an accident on Sunday about three in the morning close to Mile Marker 303.
Decca was discovered to be in possession of 15.9 grams of marijuana,.8 grams of crack cocaine, and a number of prescription medicines without a prescription over the course of the investigation.
In his car, they were also two marijuana grinders and smoking gadgets.
Decca was sent to the independent Emergency Room at Brownwood, UF Health-The Villages Hospital, for a medical assessment.
Decca was checked out medically and then sent to the Sumter County Detention Center where he was charged with multiple narcotics offenses. After paying a $13,500 bond, he was freed.
