Donald Trump, ranked last in a recent poll of America’s best presidents, made an appearance at “Sneaker Con” in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, over the weekend to launch a new line of Trump-branded golden high-top sneakers as he continues his pursuit of the Republican nomination.
At the Philadelphia Convention Center, where the event took place, the former US president faced a mixed reception of both boos and cheers as he revealed the shoes featuring a “T” logo and American flag motif.
These sneakers, marketed as “Never Surrender High-Tops,” are priced at $399 and are available on a newly launched website alongside “Victory47” cologne and perfume, each priced at $99 per bottle.
Trump’s latest business endeavor coincided with a significant setback in his civil fraud trial, where New York Justice Arthur Engoron handed down a scathing verdict on Friday.
Trump, along with his company and associates, was ordered to pay nearly $355 million in fines, with interest bringing the total to $463.9 million.
Additionally, they received a three-year ban on conducting business in the state for inflating asset values to secure favorable bank loans. Trump has declared his intention to appeal the ruling.
This development follows a previous court ruling last month, where Trump was directed to pay $83.3 million in defamation damages to E Jean Carroll.
