Florida Troopers in Hot Pursuit Stolen Car Races Across 2 Counties

An 18-year-old Palm Bay man is facing many counts after troopers said he was found driving a stolen car at speeds above 100 mph before leading them on a two-county chase on Friday, according to the arrest report.

Zyairre Brown is charged with reckless driving, operating a vehicle without a valid license, fleeing and eluding a police officer, and grand theft motor vehicle.

Around 4:40 p.m., troopers reported seeing Brown on State Road 520 near Maxim Parkway in Orange County.

According to the report, a trooper noticed a black Toyota Camry driving east at 103 mph in a 65 mph zone.

The trooper stated that they attempted to stop the automobile, but the Camry continued to pull away.

According to troopers, the automobile began to slow down near the intersection of State Roads 520 and 528 before failing to stop and continuing to speed away.

According to the report, as the suspect approached County Road 532, the trooper was able to call the license plate into dispatch, which informed them that the vehicle had been stolen out of Melbourne on the same day.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the chase continued on State Road 520 and reached Brevard County. Troopers claimed at least three passengers were inside the Camry as it proceeded to travel east at a fast pace, “going between the inside and outside lanes” before driving on the right shoulder and splitting lanes.

As the car neared the intersection of State Road 501, it signaled that it was going to turn right to drive south on State Road 501 before making a U-turn and turning left onto State Road 501 to head north.

According to the complaint, two troopers hit the Camry, bringing it to a stop.

Brown was booked into Brevard County Jail.
