Accused Killer of 9-Year-Old, Woman, and Reporter Faces Death Sentence!

The person who is accused of killing a 9-year-old girl, a woman, and an Orlando TV reporter could get the death sentence.

Keith Moses is accused of shooting five people in Pine Hills in February; three of them, including a 9-year-old girl and a News 13 reporter, died. The state attorney’s office said it would ask for the death sentence for Moses.

The law about the death sentence has changed a lot lately. In 2016, ten jurors had to agree on the death sentence for it to happen.

But now that the minimum number of jurors has been dropped to eight, Bill Sheaffer, a legal analyst for WFTV and an attorney, said that things could be different.

“Getting eight people to agree that death is the right sentence will be much easier than getting twelve people to agree on where to eat lunch,” he said.

Sheaffer said that the number of cases where the state goes after the death sentence could go up soon.

State Attorney Monique Worrell said that even though she is completely against the death sentence, she has to follow the law because the capital case review panel told her to.

Sheaffer said, “I thought they would go for the death penalty, even if the plan changed.” “What I know for sure is that it will make getting a death sentence more likely.”

The suggestion came from Worrell’s office on Friday. The panel looked at Moses’s age as well as the number and ages of the victims.
