Jacksonville Set to Host Distribution Event by Feeding Northeast Florida

At the standing Chet’s Creek Church food distribution that will take place on the 17th of May, a collaborative effort between Feeding Northeast Florida and Renewing Dignity will be held to distribute food and period products to those in need. The event will be held at the Chet’s Creek Church food distribution that has been set up permanently.

At the event, which will take place before Period Poverty Awareness Week (which will take place from May 22 to May 28), the ROAR of the Jaguars will make a special appearance.

There are about 240,000 people living in the area that is serviced by the food bank. Of those people, one in seven adults and one in five children are affected by food insecurity in some way.

This constitutes a sizeable group of individuals that are in need of aid. Women who say their household income is low are more likely to say they do not have access to other basic necessities, such as period products than other women who say they are in the same situation.

The distribution event will begin at ten o’clock in the morning and continue until eleven thirty o’clock in the morning. The Southside Campus of Chet’s Creek Church can be found in Jacksonville at 6625 Terry Road. The church is named after its pastor, Chet.

The general public is encouraged to take advantage of the free distribution that is being offered.
