Authorities say that in April, a methamphetamine overdose at a sheriff’s station claimed the life of a 41-year-old Los Angeles County sheriff’s officer.
Methamphetamine side effects claimed Jonathan Stewart’s life. The Los Angeles County medical examiner stated on April 27 that there is a report. His death was declared an accident in the report.
Stewart died at a sheriff’s station, according to the medical examiner.
On Thursday, it was not possible to get in touch with a sheriff’s representative to inquire about Stewart’s manner of death, whether the sheriff’s office had any suspicions prior to his passing that he may have been a drug user, or whether and how frequently the department drug tests its personnel.
The sheriff’s office released a statement on April 29 stating that it was “deeply saddened” by Stewart’s passing.
