MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A man from Florida City was accused by the police of stealing around $8 million worth of materials from a property close to the Miami International Airport. He was charged with 17 felonies related to the incident.
On Tuesday, officers from the Miami-Dade Police Department took Eddy Juvier, age 44, into custody.
Someone made the discovery that construction materials were gone from the Archer Western construction lot on March 9, according to the police, which is located at the intersection of Northwest 37th Avenue and 25th Street in Northwest Portland.
According to what they indicated, about a million kg worth of steel beams and other materials had vanished.
An arrest report states that surveillance footage obtained from a nearby recycling facility showed Juvier’s Archer Western work vehicle transporting the stolen material multiple times during the course of the investigation.
According to the police, Juvier made a number of sales to a variety of scrap yards over the course of approximately one year.
The authorities decided to charge him with nine charges of grand theft as well as eight counts of dealing in stolen property.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the documents kept by the Miami-Dade County Jail no longer included Juvier among the inmates there.
