An 11-year-old girl was shot on Tuesday, according to Miami police, who are now conducting an investigation into the incident.
The incident was reported at 200 NW 17th St. about noon, according to the police. The girl’s father reportedly drove her to Holtz Children’s Hospital, according to relatives who were present, according to the police.
Right now, the girl’s condition is listed as critical. Police are speaking with those who may have been involved, according to Miami Police Chief Manny Morales, who also stated that there isn’t an ongoing hunt for a shooter.
“There’s nobody out there posing a threat to the community and we have everyone involved in custody at this time,” Morales stated. “Nobody has been arrested. Everyone’s in custody and being interviewed.”
A local woman named Jazmin stated, “It breaks my heart because it’s so unfortunate that a young girl just 11 years old could possibly lose her life.”

According to police, no one has been taken into custody as of yet, and the events leading up to the shooting are being looked into. No more information was made available right away.
