Deputies from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office have taken into custody a man they believe is to blame for the death of a lady at a Keystone residence.
Around 4:45 a.m. on Monday, someone called 911 to report finding an unconscious woman inside a house on Crescent Road close to Blake Road. According to the sheriff’s office, there are multiple buildings on this land, most of which are occupied by lone individuals.
Officials said that upon their arrival, they were able to identify the victim, Valerie Dandrea, 64, who had injuries to her upper body.
According to reports, the 911 caller lived on the opposite side and could see Dandrea from the common area. Living conditions were regarded as subpar and the duplex as being under “heavy” construction.
Investigators met with 53-year-old Cris Jennings throughout the course of the inquiry; according to them, he resides on the land in a building apart from Dandrea’s house.

According to investigators, Jennings told deputies he got into a heated argument with Dandrea about money, which resulted in him shooting.
Additionally, according to detectives, Jennings used a gun to threaten someone else at his house before deputies showed up.
“Our deputies acted quickly to apprehend the suspect and bring some measure of closure to the victim’s family,” Sheriff Chad Chronister stated. “This tragic incident underscores our commitment to ensuring that those who commit violent acts are held accountable.”
Jennings is currently being charged with two counts of armed burglary with battery, aggravated battery, armed false imprisonment, and premeditated first degree murder.
