According to authorities, one person has passed away after a shootout involving police in Hialeah on Friday morning.
Officer Scarlett Hernandez reports that at around seven in the morning, police were called to a residence in the 500 block of West 53rd Street in relation to a “violent dispute.”
When the police got to the house, she said they saw a man with an armament. Hernandez claims that one or more officers fired their weapons.
“He was screaming, agitated. The officers gave numerous, numerous commands to drop the firearm. He did not. He pointed the gun at police officers and they had no other choice but to take his life,” Steadman Stahl, president of the South Florida Police Benevolent Association stated.

At the scene, the suspect was declared deceased. In the home’s driveway, a tarp covered the body of the suspect.
“This is an isolated incident and (there is) no danger to the public,” Hernandez stated.
Hernandez claims that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is looking into the shooting incident involving the police. No other information was made available right away.
