A mother from Winter Haven is asking with the perpetrator of her daughter’s horrific attack to come forward. Angel Snell, age 26, was the victim’s name as given by the family.
The woman was fatally stabbed by the suspect on Friday, according to the Winter Haven Police Department, and her body was abandoned near a construction site.
“She didn’t deserve it,” the victim’s mother Cherie Smith stated.
Smith, fighting back tears, expressed her heartbreak. Speaking of what had happened to her daughter Angel, the mother was hardly able to speak.
“She was lovely, she was caring,” Smith stated.
Smith stated that although Snell was killed over the weekend, she and her daughter were still going to celebrate her birthday on Monday.
“She said, ‘Mommy, I love you’ because Monday is my birthday tomorrow. She said, ‘I will see you on your birthday and we will have fun,” Smith stated.
According to investigators, a witness saw Snell argue with an unidentified male, who then punched her multiple times. The woman then started screaming and claimed to have been stabbed.
According to police, the witness saw the culprit fleeing south, so he hurried to the victim before looking for someone to contact 911. With stab wounds, Snell was discovered by authorities behind an old motel, inside an area used for construction. She passed away from her wounds while being taken to the hospital.
