Flavia Saraiva’s Eyebrow Injury: What Happened to the Brazilian Gymnast?

Flavia Saraiva’s Eyebrow Injury What Happened to the Brazilian Gymnast

During Tuesday’s women’s team gymnastics final at the Olympics in Paris, Flavia Saraiva, a Brazilian gymnast, flaunted a striking accessory: a bandage covering her eyebrow.

How did that come about?

Saraiva was warming up on the uneven bars when she got hurt. She suffered a cut above her right eye as a result of falling. Her eye was black and her eyebrow seemed bleeding in pictures.

After the terrifying fall, the gymnast, 24, went to the doctor and came back wearing a bandage on her forehead.

“There is nothing worse than not just falling in warmups but blanking out and having that moment replay in your mind right before competing,” analyst and Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez stated.

After receiving bandages, Saraiva executed her routine on the uneven bars, achieving a remarkable score of 13.666. She continued with a floor performance set to a beloved French cabaret song. Simone Biles of Team USA is seen as having a friendly rival in Rebecca Andrade, Saraiva’s colleague.

At the occasion, Biles seemed to be coping with an injury of her own. With tape wrapped around her left shin and leg, she performed admirably all day.

Biles “felt a little pain in her calf” during her floor warmup a few days ago, according to the superstar’s personal coach Cecile Landi, but withdrawing from the competition was “never in [her] mind.”

The American women’s gymnastics team took home the gold on Tuesday, after the men’s team’s 16-year medal drought that ended on Monday in Paris.
