According to an arrest affidavit, the Waco Police Department detained a guy for allegedly trying to rob an elderly woman at gunpoint and demanding that she give him her prescription or money.

Accused of aggravated robbery, Jerard Dawson, 32, is listed in county records.

Officers were summoned to the 3300 block of Haman Ave. at approximately 4:40 p.m. on August 2 in response to complaints of a gun-related civil disturbance. Officers met with the elderly victim, who was obviously terrified and trembling, when they arrived.

According to the report, the woman informed police that she had just returned home from Subway with her companion and was getting ready to take her prescription when a gray Range Rover drove up in front of them quickly, causing her to hit the brakes.

According to the affidavit, the victim claimed Dawson got out of the Land Rover, walked up to her car, demanded money or her medication, and threatened to kill her if she didn’t comply.

The victim attempted to exit her car, but Dawson refused, closing the door on her left leg, according to the affidavit.

According to the affidavit, Dawson urged a guy inside the Land Rover to get his pistol out of the vehicle, which led to an argument between the victim and Dawson on the front lawn.

According to the affidavit, Dawson threatened to kill the victim while keeping the gun at his side during the argument. The victim identified the gun to authorities as a silver stub nose with a wooden grip. The victim claimed that she and her friend had finally been able to enter her home when Dawson fled because he knew the police were about to arrive.

The victim told the police that she only knew Dawson by his nickname “G” when they first met him four months ago through one of her daughters.

According to the statement, when police asked Dawson how he found out about her prescription medication, she replied that either her daughter or his ex-girlfriend had told him.

The victim informed law enforcement. According to the affidavit, Dawson’s girlfriend was dismissed after being discovered stealing from her. According to the complaint, his girlfriend became agitated and broke the victim’s glass. According to the paper, the victim answered yes when the police inquired if she wanted to file charges.

The friend who was a witness was also contacted by the police, according to the affidavit, but she declined to become involved. The paper claims that after conducting an investigation, police located Dawson’s vehicle and started a traffic stop. According to the affidavit, the car drove off and was pursued by police until it wrecked near the 2700 block of Gorman Ave.

According to the affidavit, the female driver escaped on foot when the officers managed to place Dawson in the patrol car.

According to the affidavit, the female later approached the officers and claimed to be the owner of the stolen range rover, referring to Dawson as her brother.

According to the authorities, Dawson intended to return to the victim’s home.

The affidavit claims that drugs were discovered in the rear of the car by the officers and taken into custody. The affidavit claims that when police took Dawson to the hospital for a medical check, they informed the officer that his brother, Jeremy Dawson, 34, was the driver.

According to the affidavit, police discovered that Dawson had indeed taken the victim’s belongings while threatening her with a gun. Dawson was then taken into custody. Right now, Dawson is housed at the McLennan County Jail.
