A tornado was really reported by the National Weather Service on Thursday night close to Marshallton, Delaware, which is located just west of Wilmington. The NWS reports that it occurred at 7:12 p.m.
A tornado warning was in effect for New Castle County until 7:30 p.m., at which point it was canceled.
As the storm passed through, damage was done to an Acme along Kirkwood Highway. Individuals within the shop reported that the storm passed through swiftly. They reported hearing a gust of wind as a section of the roof broke off. The cart returns were hurled, and tree limbs were strewn all over the parking lot.
“Looks like some of the roof got torn off,” Dan Schofield, an Acme employee, stated. “There’s definitely some damage inside. A few people were scared here and there but mostly everyone was in good spirits.”

Utility workers were tending to fallen wires and poles in other locations. On social media, New Castle County Police announced that officers are out assessing the damage and answering calls.
Social media users were notified by Mill Creek Fire Company about downed wires in the vicinity. While the cleanup is ongoing, they are requesting that people stay at home.

The NWS reports that New Castle County is under a flash flood warning through 12:15 a.m. on Friday.
The New Castle County region has already received 2.5 to 6 inches of rain, according to the NWS. The NWS reports that several cars were submerged in the floodwaters and that a trailer park in Red Lion and Kirkwood is being evacuated. According to the NWS, two to three inches of rain are predicted to fall each hour, which implies flash flooding is already happening.
Flash flooding is also happening in Coatesville, Chester County. Significant street flooding has been reported in Landenberg, Avondale, and the Coatesville region, according to the NWS.

Similar to New Castle County, sections of Chester County should receive two to three inches of rain every hour, and two to five inches have already fallen. As the remains of Debby—which has been reduced to a tropical depression—move into the Philadelphia area, a tornado warning was issued.
On Friday afternoon, the aftermath of Debby is probably going to have the most effect on the Philadelphia area. In addition to significant rain, there is a slight chance of lone tornadoes if the storm’s outer bands rotate significantly.
It’s going to be a gorgeous weekend in the Delaware Valley once Debby’s ashes depart on Friday.
