According to court documents made public on Thursday, a Coral Springs lady claimed detectives she killed her husband inside their house during the Labor Day weekend due to infidelity issues.
According to authorities, one of the twin boys, ages 14 and belonging to Denise and Rohan Malcolm, saw his father, who had been shot several times, bleed out on the bedroom floor.
According to an arrest report, 52-year-old Rohan Malcolm was still alive and was holding his shoulder when his wife told investigators she had fired one last shot, killing him just as the police arrived.
First-degree murder would be the reason for Denise Malcolm’s 45-year-old arrest.
The killing, according to Coral Springs police, took place at the family’s residence at 10501 NW 43rd St. on Saturday night.
Just after 6:30 p.m., according to the authorities, one of the couple’s sons called 911 to report that his father had been shot in the shoulder but was still alive. According to the authorities, Rohan Malcolm was shot multiple times.
“He was alone in his bedroom, eating Chinese food and listening to music with his headphones on when he suddenly heard two or three loud bangs,” one of the twins said to authorities.
His mother was “standing in the doorway with a handgun in her hand,” according to the police, and he “rushed out of his room.”
“He looked inside the bedroom to see (his father) bleeding from the shoulder,” according to the report. “Denise told him to leave the area, so he went into the kitchen and called emergency services from his (redacted) cellular phone.”
According to the report, two police officers from Coral Springs “took positions of cover outside the front of the residence and began giving loud verbal commands for the occupants to exit.”
According to authorities, the twins came out and “were kept safe.” Officers “heard a loud bang” coming from within the house while continuing to issue orders; they took the noise “to be a gunshot,” according to the report.
According to the report, Malcolm would identify it as the fatal shot in an interview with detectives. According to the authorities, she gave a detailed explanation of her decision to pull the trigger.
“For the past two years, (Rohan) had been unfaithful, leading to a breakdown in their (marriage),” police stated in the report. “As a result, they slept in separate bedrooms and frequently engaged in heated verbal altercations. She did not trust him and was at her wits’ end with his lies and deceit.”
According to the police, she would kill him during one of such arguments. According to the report, Rohan Malcolm “unexpectedly announced that he was leaving to go to Port Saint Lucie with his friends” after the two had returned from a shopping trip to gather goods for a Labor Day BBQ.
“Believing that (he) was lying and was actually going to see his (redacted), Denise became upset and started arguing with him,” as per the report. “Denise and (Rohan) engaged in a heated verbal altercation that lasted between 45 minutes to an hour, culminating in Denise’s rage.”

According to the authorities, she walked to the closet in her bedroom, took out a revolver, and loaded a round into the chamber. The story claims that she then repeatedly shot her spouse while standing in the doorway.
“She closed the bedroom door and locked it, planning to kill herself after (Rohan) died,” according to the report. “As she contemplated suicide, (he) was bleeding from the gunshot wounds he sustained. Denise advised that (her husband) said something to her that made her stop her thoughts of suicide and shoot him for a final time.”
According to the report, Malcolm informed investigators that her husband “was not alive after the last shot was fired.” Later on, she would be taken into custody.
Malcolm was being held at the Broward Sheriff’s Office Paul Rein Detention Facility in Pompano Beach without bond as of Thursday. As of Thursday, the court had not scheduled any hearings, according to online records.
