Four people were detained overnight on suspicion of trafficking minors for sex by the Louisiana State Police-Special Victims Unit (LSP-SVU), which was cooperating with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Gonzales Police Department.

Following reports of a juvenile from Texas who was missing and thought to be in the Gonzales region, police used a variety of investigative techniques to find the juvenile.

Following an investigation, Kiara Davis, 20, of Gonzales; Jayden Hodge, 19, of Dallas, TX; Antonio Jackson, 21, of Phoenix, AZ; and La’Niyia Campbell, 18, of Dallas, TX were taken into custody.

L.R.S. 14:46.2 – Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes – is the statute under which each person is accused. The Ascension Parish Jail was assigned to house the four of them.

The Department of Children and Family Services has been tasked with the safe custody of the minor. An investigation is still ongoing in these circumstances.
